Great Graphics!

Last week on my Facebook page I was curious about Teacher-Author's favorite graphics...so I'm blogging here about my favorite pages.  Let me know in the comments what are your favorites! And come join the conversation on the FB page.

When I started on TpT and became an official Teacher-Author (we all are when we become teachers...but how special do you feel to have a title?) I didn't know what I was doing . . . so I just searched the web for graphics.  My first find was Scrappin' Doodles.  What great stuff!

One of my favorites is Digi Web Studio, because they offer literally THOUSANDS of items to choose from and they are very popular with the elementary crowd!  They offer lots of things on sale and the search function on their site is very friendly.

The web diva that compiles all the great things at Digi Web Studio has just started up her own page, Art by Leah Rae.  She is still adding to that page, but I love it because her Terms of Use aren't a hassle and a half, if you know what I mean!

Another site called Dreamstime, is great for photograph clips.  I use them mostly when I am creating items for the Family & Consumer Sciences section of my store (the more mature crowd, you know ;) Here's a post I wrote about it!

I think my all-time favorite is MyCuteGraphics!  I mean come on, they are free, they are cute as can be, and Laura is just a great artist and willing to to take requests . . . doesn't get more awesome than that!!

She also just started up a sister site, Whimsy Clips, where she is selling some of her images in VERY convenient bundles for teachers!

I've also got a few photo bundles in my TpT store!  Check them out!  They were just an experiment, so I'm not sure if that's something I really want to get in to, but it's always fun to try new things . . . please check them out and let me know what you think!

I'd love to hear about your favorite graphics/clips/photos sites!!

Tuesday Ta Da! 4/2/13

Happy Tuesday!!

I can't believe it's April!  I can't decide whether time seems to be going faster since I'm not in the classroom and I don't have deadlines: report cards, TPRI, Dibles, field trips, and the like or slower.  I know teachers and students alike are getting excited since the end is near!

Today for the Ta Da, I'm putting up an item that has been in my store for a little while, but I don't think many people know about it.  When we worked on poetry in my classroom, we (just like you, I'm sure) hit it all over: rhyming, stanzas, words, spaces, imagery, description, and on and on.  I made these puzzles for my students to practice with and they had so much fun with them.  I hope you will grab this freebie and have fun with it!

April Fool's Day

I'm really trying to think of a good way to prank my husband.  I'm terrible at that sort of thing, in fact I'm so bad at it that I just might be able to pull something off.  Needing some ideas!

Does anyone have any fun April Fools Day stories?  Did your students get you or did you get them?

Happy April!!

Tuesday Ta Da!

Happy Tuesday!!

As is customary on Tuesday, I wanted to give you a peek at the Tuesday Ta Da for this week!  I have so missed blogging over the last six weeks.  My mind was so otherwise occupied, but I have so many ideas rolling around in my brain I don't know where to start!

My inspiration for this project was my two year old, Little Girl, she is so busy and she talks non stop, so I wanted to get some print in her space.  Handsome Young Guy and I are really committed to limiting her screen time because as former school teachers we have seen first hand the effects of unlimited access to media for kids.  We also just don't like a lot of what comes through the tube.  However, we are iPhone junkies, well, maybe not, but we have them and we like them.  So Little Girl knows what a phone is.  When we have a few minutes to wait around somewhere, she loves to look at the pictures that we have on our phones - mostly of her!  So, back to the point, she loves to look at pictures so I started taking pictures of things aound the house to practice vocabulary and speech.  And then I thought.  . . hmmm . . . I could use these for print awareness as well!  So I made some labels to stick around our house.  I haven't got them all up yet, so hopefully I can get that finished and show you som pics soon!  Enjoy this deal today!

And don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY for 3 items of your choice from my TpT store!  It ends tomorrow 3/27/13!
